Inexcusable Grooming Gaffes: Embarrassing Issues to Avoid

Be it at work or at social functions, one must be perfectly groomed to be ‘presentable’. You cannot walk into a business meeting or a social function uncouth and shabby. First impressions are important and appearing well-groomed plays a great role when first impressions are being formed about you.

It’s embarrassing for you, and those around you, when you are ungroomed, and sometimes just inexcusable. Here are some unforgivable grooming gaffes you should avoid:

1. The aim of shaving is to remove your entire beard. When you miss certain spots while shaving, it appears uncouth. Check your face after you shave, and address and stray strands that you might have missed. The clean-shaven look is smart and professional.

2. Ungroomed hands are another issue that is plain embarrassing. This doesn’t mean that you have to get manicures regularly. It just means that your hands should be presentable. Use a hand cream to keep your skin moisturized and smooth.

3. Uni-brows are also unpresentable. Use tweezers to separate your uni-brow. If the task seems too tedious for you to do, try waxing.

4. Excessive nose hair, or even ear hair, is not a pretty sight for anyone. The solution is easy – use a hair trimmer to remove these hairs (you get different trimmers made especially for nose hair/ ear hair). A regular trim every now and then will keep you looking smart and groomed.

5. Excessive body odor is something you just cannot oversee. A spray of a good cologne or even using a bit of talcum powder will help you control body odor and keep you smelling fresh.

Of course, this is just the beginning of the list. Bad breath, excess neck hair, yellow teeth, etc. are almost just as much turn-offs as those listed above. Being well-groomed is not that hard – it requires just a bit of effort on your part. A grooming routine could be a good solution to all your grooming problems.
